Kia Launches Updated EV6 in France, Starting at €43,950

Entry-Level Model with Enhanced Range and Features
Kia has officially introduced the refreshed EV6 in the French market, with a starting price of €43,950 for the base rear-wheel drive model equipped with a standard-range battery. This variant is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 125 kW (170 hp) and 350 Nm of torque.

This version is available exclusively in the “Air” trim and comes fitted with a 63 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. According to WLTP standards, the car offers a mixed range of 428 km and up to 644 km in city driving. The battery supports fast DC charging and can temporarily reach up to 195 kW of power output. Under optimal conditions, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes at compatible ultra-fast charging stations.

Long-Range Variant Adds Power and Distance
The Air trim is also offered with a long-range rear-wheel drive version, priced at €47,450. This version is equipped with a larger 84 kWh battery, boosting its range to 582 km on the mixed cycle and 766 km in urban settings, while retaining the standard 19-inch wheels. Though the torque remains at 350 Nm, the motor’s maximum power output increases to 168 kW (229 hp), providing a more dynamic driving experience.

As is customary with Kia, even the entry-level trims come generously equipped. Full details of the available features can be found on Kia’s official website.

Other Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive Variants
The new 63 kWh battery replaces the older 58 kWh unit, while the new 84 kWh version supersedes the previous 77 kWh pack. All higher trims of the EV6 are now equipped with the upgraded 84 kWh battery. This includes the GT-Line and GT-Line Premium trims, priced at €50,550 and €55,550 respectively.

No additional range figures have been provided for these trims beyond those already confirmed for the Air long-range version, except when the optional €1,500 Style Pack is added. This upgrade includes a panoramic sunroof and 20-inch wheels, slightly reducing the range to 560 km mixed and 751 km in urban driving.

EV6 GT: Kia’s Most Powerful Electric Car Yet
Kia had previously turned heads with the EV6 GT, boasting 585 hp. Now, the automaker has raised the bar further, increasing the output to a staggering 650 hp when Launch Control is engaged—outclassing even the new Ferrari Amalfi’s 640 hp. It’s a bold move for a hatchback to outperform a Ferrari in terms of sheer power.

The updated EV6 GT benefits from the same 84 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 450 km. Its 800-volt electrical architecture enables ultra-fast charging, with 10% to 80% top-ups achievable in just 18 minutes under ideal conditions.

Performance Meets Comfort and Innovation
In response to growing market trends, Kia has introduced virtual gear shifts via steering-mounted paddles, along with synthetic sound generation to mimic gear changes. The electronically controlled suspension has been retuned to enhance driving dynamics, particularly in the Sport and My Drive modes. Drivers can tailor the car’s performance through selectable drive modes including Eco, Normal, Sport, and My Drive.

To complement its athletic abilities, the EV6 GT also sees improvements in cabin quietness. Kia has upgraded the sound insulation by enhancing floor materials and wheel arch protections.

Blistering Acceleration at a Lower Price
The EV6 GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 260 km/h. Despite these impressive specs, Kia has reduced the price of the GT version from €74,690 to €70,550. This pricing strategy positions the EV6 GT as a high-performance yet accessible option in the electric vehicle market. It even undercuts competitors like the Porsche Taycan, which offers less power, fewer features, and reduced range at a significantly higher cost.
