Yes, I am guilty of being a Bollywood Fan and I enjoy watching the movies since they are a good source of entertainment. I really appreciate the comedy movies and their Netflix and Amazon Prime series like Mirzapur and Sacred Games. I do give them the due credit for their acting, however, our real-life incidents can’t be compared to those conceptualized in the Bollywood movies. It’s a point of concern that the Bollywood has taken such a staunch and grave stance against Pakistan after the Pulwama attack without prior investigation or proof.
My sincere advice is that our real-time scenarios require thorough investigation, proof and most of all logic before directly jumping to a conclusion. It is ok to imply things in the movies but how do we just imply the reason behind anything without proof. I wonder, but thanks to the social media and memes, people have found a rather lighter yet hilarious side for the reaction of Bollywood stars towards Pakistan after the attack. From Phantom 2 to Aik Tha Tiger 3, people have already provided scripts on social media for the upcoming Bollywood films.
I was going through the Pulwama attack memes, that I came across Kangana Ranawat stance and I was taken back since it took me a while to understand her statement. I thought she was being sarcastic of the current situation rather she is serious about the war. How do we all take Bollywood movies so seriously that we think war is the only solution to the problem. It is not Phantom that someone comes and asks for revenge and you just go on the mission without any prior knowledge or proof.
The reaction shown by the most respected Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhter canceling their tour to the cultural event to be held in Karachi condemning the Pulwama attack is yet another aggressive step towards Pakistan. By the way, Navjot Singh Sidhu has also been asked to leave Kapil Sharma Show because of the protests against his so-called bias for Pakistan.
Well, I really don’t know why is this happening, but I can only say that the actors have taken their profession really seriously and are trying to implement their Bollywood styles in real life by giving the same reactions as they do in the movies. Yes, we like action and war in the movies, but can I just say that it is definitely not a good solution in real-time events. These incidents require investigation, logic, proof and proper communication channels.
