It is the day of change, a day of new beginning and hopefully a prosperous future for Pakistan. It is the day of the oath ceremony of 22nd elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. Imran Khan was selected as 22nd Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan after bagging 176 votes.
Even though the journey was difficult it lead to a worthy price!
The list of this star studded event is long and everyone who is anybody is present in the Aiwan-e-Sadar. The list include head of Armed Forces including Gen. Even though the attendees are admired by many and recognized by everyone they were served tea and biscuits! Yes you heard that right, Wasim Akram will be served tea and biscuit (Let that sink!)
A Happening Day
The day started with the constant chatter about Naya Pakistan as oath ceremony was schedule to start at 9. 15 a.m. It got delayed and delayed and we were pasted in front of our television screens!
Finally we heard the anchors screaming ‘Imran Khan left for Aiwan-e-Sadar and we were like “Ya Allah Shukar“…
Start with National Anthem & Holy Qura’n
The ceremony started with National Anthem and the recitation of Holy Qura’n. After the recitation, President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain took oath from Imran Khan. We all noticed that smile Prime Minister!
Minus the Customary Protocol
The news media observed lack of customary protocol as there were 7 cars while we are used to at least double this number. The oath ceremony is usually marked with the exhibition of an impressive protocol. The absence of such exhibition was a ray of hope for the future of Pakistan.
