Huawei is considered to be one of the largest solution providers for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) across the globe. Huawei has established a certification system known as Huawei Certification system in order to support students and young professionals to attain recognized Huawei certification in order to be well-equipped with ICT global standards. Not only that, Huawei ICT believes in promoting ICT among students by holding yearly ICT competitions in different countries including Pakistan in order to promote technology among young students. Huawei has collaborated with HEC (Higher Education Commission) Pakistan in order to promote ICT talent among different colleges and universities in Pakistan. The students can now participate in 3rd Huawei ICT Competition 2018 in Pakistan on university level by online enrollment.
Huawei Authorized Information And Network Academy (HAINA)
In addition to ICT Competitions, Huawei has collaborated with HEC to establish Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA) in multiple universities in order to provide opportunities to students to learn advanced technologies on security and telecom systems through hands-on experience and lab simulations. There are fourteen (14) academies currently established and Huawei plans to set up 30 academies in Pakistan.
Schedule For Huawei ICT Competition 2018
Huawei intends to promote ICT among students by establishing HAINA academies, conducting workshops, seminars, and roadshows and holding Preliminary rounds in different universities including Iqra University Karachi, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences.

ICT Competitions 2018-19 Type and Content
The competition is all about IT and IP knowledge and real-time problems and challenges involving IP, security, routing and switching, protocols and cloud computing. The participants will work in labs in a simulated environment and brainstorm on real technical and IT challenges and problems. The competition comprises of written tests as well as lab simulations involving real-time IT challenges.
Participation From Pakistan
Around 10,000 students from different well-reputed universities have registered for 3rd Huawei ICT Competition 2018. More than 5000 students are participating in Preliminary rounds and then 500 students will appear on the National level for e-learning test. Top 100 students will then give the lab test. Cherry on top is that the top 6 most competent students will be given the golden opportunity to visit Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen, China to participate in the International Round. The trip is going to be fully sponsored by Huawei itself. Such competitions open gateway for the students to learn and gain knowledge as well as interact with technology leaders and mentors on an international level. The basic motivation behind such competitions is to create ICT awareness among students and to harness their talent for technology and R&D.
