From Stormy Sea To Cricket Grounds – The Story Of A Sailor Who Wanted To Be A Cricketer!

The game of cricket inspired millions and it’s not just about the game. The popularity, prestige, representation of the country, and stardom glamorize this game. Cricket star are celebrities in rightful manner and they are the heartthrob of millions of women. They make the world stand to their national anthem and Fakhar Zaman did just that!

On the field, it’s a completely different story. The game is competitive, either you have to ace it or you will get replaced. Considering the competition, the cricketers are aggressively trained to be the best. This aggression is evident in the stance of the cricketers and tiring physical training. The game got rough and they have to cope! We Pakistanis are blessed as our country produced uncountable name that shined all across the world. They take the name “Pakistan” to unconquerable heights and they made the world realized that Pakistan is a talent-producing country. Fakhar Zaman is the latest collection to our cricket gem as he recently scored a double century against Zimbabwe.

Life Of Fakhar-A Man True To His Name

Fakhar is well known for his aggressive batting style. He was born on 10th April, 1990 at Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. His early life was strikingly different from what we see today. His father wanted him to join Pakistan Navy and focus on his academic career.

He joined Pakistan Navy and represented Navy team on various platform. Azam Khan (Fakhar’s Navy Team Coach) encouraged him to follow his heart and he left his job in 2013. On 30th March, 2017 he made his T20I debut against West Indies. He got noticed in 2017 Pakistan Super League as a Lahore Qalandar gem. Champions trophy 2017 proved to be the career development tournament for him as he scores his first 50 against Sri Lanka. On 7th June, 2017 Fakhar Zaman played his debutante ODI were he opened the innings and score some quick 31 runs with his aggressive batting. All eyes were on him and he scored his debutante century against India in Champions trophy final. Pakistan won the Champions Trophy and Fakhar was declared the “Man of the Match”.

THE “Double Century”

Fakhar Zaman scripted history after as he became the first Pakistani batsman to slam a double hundred in ODI cricket. He blasted off 210 off 156 deliveries eclipsing the previous record of Saeed Anwar’s 194 against India in 1997. The achievement calls for all the praises and celebration, and Pakistani’s are celebrating!
