BumbleBee has been a warrior throughout his life in Cybertron and losing his memory doesn’t affect his basic instincts and reflexes. Well, I watched BumbleBee this weekend and have been really disappointed to see Bumble Bee in such a miserable condition after losing his memory. Why would anyone do such a tragedy to his rough and tough character to a sweet, cute and adorable robot?
I have got serious affiliation with Transformer series since it’s a memory lane down to our childhood favorite transformer cartoons. I am still amazed at the vision and projection of robotics at that time. Anyways, this pre-Transformers movie is all about BumbleBee and the mission assigned to him by Optimus Prime to explore a safe planet after losing the battle at Cybertron.
The movie dates back to 1987 when BumbleBee arrives on Earth accompanied by his enemy and loses his battle resulting in his memory loss. So, BumbleBee transforms himself into an old yellow beetle and decides to hide in a junkyard. By the way, the movie starts with completely animated awesome war at Cybertron and the appearance of John Cena makes the audience thinks that it is going to be emblematic transformer battle movie but, the movie takes a U-turn to a slow daily life routine after a typical teenager finds him at the junkyard and taken him home.
The major part of the movie is about the friendly and caring bond between the girl and BumbleBee and how they make a great adventurous team since the girl is not at all happy at her home and finds BumbleBee to be her companion. On one hand, the girl teaches and trains BumbleBee and on the other hand, BumbleBee makes her realize her true hidden potential which she had been hesitating due to her lack of courage after the death of her father.
Here is the twist part: Switching on the yellow beetle gave the location of BumbleeBee to his rivals who came to Earth after him in order to know the coordinates of Optimus Prime. So, the fun begins here and the exciting war part finally starts. The part which the audience has been waiting to see for the past 60 minutes. I won’t be sharing the details of the war, whether BumbleeBee retrieves his memory and was the success in averting the great battle on Earth? In order to find out more, you need to watch the movie.
I am a big fan of Transformer series and have considered them strong warriors who have been trained to live in a state of war to protect the fellow beings. Well, this film was unable to do any justice to BumbleeBee character and his instinctive traits. But the teenager girl story is definitely interesting since this story is quite relatable to almost every family with teenager kids and their misunderstanding about their families. It’s a bit of slow movie unlike the previous series and the appearance of John Cena hasn’t been able to lift the movie because of the weak storyline.
